Matte Lapiz Lazuli and Labradorite Smithsonian Necklace
This is a stunning showpiece made for the Smithsonian Opening of No Spectators: The Art of Burningman at The Renwick Gallery in Washington DC.... There is a gorgeous 50mm Labradorite set in Matte Black Peyote Stitched Beadwork. Also a 25 mm Labradorite Tear shaped cabochon set in Peyote Stitch. They are backed by supple leather for strength. The choker section is 4 rows of Matte Lapiz 4mm beads with Brass faceted African bead spacers. There is a 14k goldfill Lobster clasp in the back. It is possible for an additional length to be added to be custom fit to the wearers desired length. There are 2 dramatic long strands of braided wax linen hanging down the front each with Matte Lapiz Lazuli Gems . One strand is 29" at longest point with cylindrical cut Lapiz stones. The other strand hangs 24" down at it's longest point and has geometrical octagonal shaped Lapiz. This stunning statement Necklace is constructed as all one piece. An eye catcher for sure!
