Origins of MARISA YOULDEN JEWELRY
Marisa Youlden is a jewelry designer originally from San Francisco, California, who has established herself in Talent, Oregon.
She hand crafts all of her pieces in her home studio while enjoying all the benefits of living and thriving in Southern Oregon.
Marisa is a self taught bead worker and metal smith. She started her love affair with jewelry, watching her mother, a goldsmith, designing Lost Wax jewelry in San Francisco. Her Mother introduced her to bead working with seed beads as a small child. Making and selling her beadwork in her younger years was her ticket to traveling throughout the West Coast Music Scene.
She honed her craft while hiking the West Coast Mountain Ranges and camping out at Hot Springs, Rivers and attending Healing Gatherings. Marisa spent many years designing costume jewelry for a fire and fashion performance circus troupe she performed with, called El Circo, which came to recognition in the Burning Man Scene of 1999-2007. Her specialty was creating runway style showpiece necklaces, head dresses and body harnesses to compliment the costume stylings of Tiffa Novoa's outrageous fashion shows at Burning Man and places beyond. Eventually, this brought her to Los Angeles where she began to create jewelry for Smashbox Fashion Shows
at LA Fashion Week and a variety of Fashion Shows with Skin Graft, Ernte, Kuccoon and many other Designers. Her jewelry was carried for many years at Nina at Fred Segal in Santa Monica, CA. She designed custom pieces for a variety of celebrity performers such as Shakira, Pink, The White Stripes and many more. Recently, Marisa's beadwork was featured in the Smithsonian
Institute Museum's Renwick Gallery and made a tour of Museums across the USA. Marisa is currently creating a wide range of jewelry to compliment an everyday Casual Lifestyle.
